Clifford Hogue (Deceased) (inducted in 2002) -- Hogue grew up near Blairsville, PA and heard The Franklin Brothers, Brown's Ferry Four, Blackwood Brothers, Chuck Wagon Gang and others on the radio in the early 1940's. In 1950 he formed Christ's Ambassadors, singing at their home church in Chambersburg, on radio and later in several states. He promoted southern Gospel concerts in the Chambersburg area in the 1950's, 1960's and early 1970's, and accompanied many local groups in the guitar well into the 1980's. He discontinued promoting concerts after open heart surgery in 1976, but he still attended concerts throughout the state. Clifford V. Hogue, who went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 1991, may have been Pennsylvania's first promoter of southern Gospel music.
